Clow Valve and Waterman representing at the National Ergo Cup
March 27, 2023
Two McWane teams —Waterman and Clow Valve Foundry— are competing at the National Applied Ergonomics Conference 2023 Ergo Cup Competition in New Orleans this week. Their projects won first place and runner-up in the McWane Ergo Cup awards announced in November.
The annual competition recognizes and encourages the development of innovative ergonomics solutions and program initiatives in the workplace. Ergo Cup Teams highlight their projects against seven criteria: innovation, simplicity, cost savings/return on investment, ergonomic risk reduction, presentation quality, measurable performance objectives and sustainability.
The Waterman team is showcasing their Rotary Weld Fixture, a solution that reduced physical risk of back and shoulder pain by 95% and reduced setup time, weld time and staffing requirements. Clow Valve is demonstrating their Pattern Picker, a motorized tool to pick up patterns from the rack and move them safely to the pattern table without manual lifting.
We are proud of the innovative work of two McWane teams being recognized nationally. We wish both teams good luck in this year's competition!
